- Describe safe and effective opioid dosing guidelines using morphine equivalent narcotics
- Identify alternative pain therapies, including non-opioid medication and non-pharmacologic treatment
- Define pharmaceutical waste and emphasize the obligation to properly dispose of excess opioid medication
- Evaluate patients and assess risk of opioid misuse and/or susceptibility to opioid use disorder
- Describe appropriate screening and assessment tools, including Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT)
- Discuss best practices for clinical management of pediatric, geriatric, pregnant, and chronic pain patients
