- Understand the oral problems which develop when chemotherapy is used to treat cancer
- Recognize the short-term and long-term oral problems that develop after radiation therapy is used to treat oral-pharyngeal cancers
- Become aware of the oral lesions which are caused by sexually transmitted diseases
- Learn of the medications used in the treatment of various systemic diseases that may cause intraoral side effects
- Identify oral problems which develop from psychiatric problems such as bulimia and anorexia nervosa
- Review varied autoimmune diseases and their impact on oral health
- Be aware oral complications can occur with conditions such as pregnancy and menopause.
