Identify patients who are at-risk or highly susceptible to infection as a result of dental procedures and/or pre-existing medical conditions.
Review common viruses and diseases and how they can affect the oral cavity.
Become more familiar with oral and systemic infections that may result as a side effect of dental procedures and routine oral care.
Identify appropriate prophylactic and post-procedural antibiotic treatments.
Review various infectious diseases encountered within the dental environment.
Understand the meaning of focal oral infections.
