- Compile a thorough and accurate patient history focusing on both physical and psychological components.
- Classify patients according to risk level.
- Understand how to use and maintain an effective emergency medical kit.
- Assess and treat unconsciousness, airway obstruction, seizures, strokes and cardiac arrest.
- Recognize causes for and know how to treat drug-related emergencies.
- Care for patients who have epilepsy, diabetes, angina, and other diseases.
- Discuss guidelines for the patient with hypertension, hypotension and asthma.
- Review precautions for adverse drug reactions.
