- Review the basics of infection prevention & control in dental settings according to CDC and OSHA recommendations
- Define standard and transmission-based precautions
- Discuss hand hygiene, personal protection equipment (PPE), and hygiene for coughs and respiratory ailments
- Recommend engineering controls for sharps and needle injection practices
- Describe proper disinfection and sterilization of instruments and materials and sterilizer monitoring
- Review policies and procedures for routine cleaning and disinfection of environmental surfaces and handpieces and for the maintenance of dental unit waterlines
